A large long painting of a field of poppies. Painted in a semi abstract style I love the free flowing nature of this in simple black and red. I added some magenta to the reds in this to intensify the colour creating a tone somewhere between red and purple, kind of a deep burgundy. A long large piece of art perfect for those spaces above a sofa or bed.

A reminder of warm summer days and splashes of colour in the countryside when the wild poppies bloom in our fields. A lovely time of year and a theme full of freshness and light. I keep the paint watery for this technique allowing the colours to merge and spread in a natural way. A perfect way to introduce a little of nature's beauty with contemporary style into your interior space.
