I often look at the work of other artists and often find myself disappointed with the lack of finishing that goes on. I see paintings on cheap canvases, with staples showing on the sides, no varnishing and no way for the client to hang the piece once they get it home.
For me the finishing touch starts right at the beginning of the process making my own stretcher bars and using quality canvas. This way I can ensure the quality of materials and it had the added benefit of allowing me to create non standard sizes to fit the clients space perfectly when creating a commission piece.
I use high quality materials for my work whether it's the ink or the paint I use, better quality does make a difference however subtle to the finished work. All of my paintings are ready to hang too. By finishing my work around the sides there is no need for framing if you choose not to, and the back of the canvas is always D-Ringed and corded. Really all you have to do is take it out of the box and hang it ony your wall.
All artwork is shipped in bespoke packaging to ensure it's safety in transit. Having put all the effort into creating a beautiful artwork, the last thing you or I would want is for it to arrive damaged, and so far that has never happened.
I have always felt that if someone is going to spend their hard earned money on my art, the least I can do is make sure it is a quality piece of work, looks good, arrives safely and is ready to hang on your wall.
